Oncology

Oncology is the study of the development, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of abnormal tissue growth, or tumors.

As our pets age, many will have abnormal growths within multiple regions of the body, including internal organs and skin. Our team believes it is important to determine first if the growth is a malignancy or cancerous growth. There are many modalities to determine the biological character of a tumor, from minimally invasive microscopic inspection, to complete removal of a tumor and examination under a microscope.

Cancer takes on many forms, as do the forms of therapy. Treatments often involves diet changes, pharmaceutical options including chemotherapy, surgery, and hospice care.
